Mountains And Motor Bikes
JANUARY 26 - 28, 2018
We found Mitch's ped!! ... well actually we just rented one for the weekend. I was a little hesitant about whipping a motor bike around the city, but it was an exhilirating way to see Chiang Mai like a local and now I'm even considering investing in my own motor bike (emphasis on considering).
The city of Chiang Mai was beautiful and all, but the real showstopper was Wat Phra That Doi Suthep. A scenic motor bike drive up the winding roads of Doi Suthep mountain led us to this breathtaking temple. Doi Suthep sits 1,676 meters in the sky and is by far the most extravagent temple I have visited yet.
A good day got even better as we headed to an Happy Elephant Home where we got to spend the afternoon hiking, feeding, and playing with Elephants.
Elephants never forget, and I know I'll never forget this wonderous weekend in Chiang Mai!
PSA: It's very frowned upon to ride elephants. Seriously, Google it. They do some pretty awful things to these amazing creatures. Be sure to do your research and choose an ethical elephant sanctuary wisely.
