I got it From My Momma

MARCH 23 - 31, 2018

It was back to back visitors as I put my dad on a plane back to America and picked up my mom.

Like my dad, it was my mom's first time in Asia so I was so excited to show her around the country I've called home for the last six months.

My cousin came all the way from Myanmar to join my mom and me during our first few days in Bangkok. Our days were filled with a variety of typical tourist activities like visiting the Grand Palace, Wat Arun, Thai massages, (fake) tattoos, and lots of tuk tuk rides! I Even though I had just visited the Grand Palace and Wat Arun the prior week, I never mind visiting a place twice because you always get a completely different perspective.

After a few days in the big city, we hopped on the ferry to Koh Samui for some quiet time. While in Koh Samui we decided it would be fun to go scuba diving. I've had my diving certification for years, but never had the chance to use it so I was SO excited about this opportunity. My mom on the other hand was very hesitant about diving, but she was so brave and had a successful first dive!

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to capture the breathtaking beauty under the sea, (who knew GoPros don't work 50 feet under water) but I know I'll never forget all the incredible ocean life I was able to explore at Sailors Rock.

After a quick stopped in Nakhon Pathom to show my mom how I've been living these last six months, we headed to Chiang Rai. I was very excited to visit Chiang Rai because it is one of the few places in Thailand I hadn't been to yet. Our first day in Chiang Rai was spent making some new friends at Elephant Valley Thailand. The following day we checked out the White Temple. If the Apple store built a temple I think it would look a lot like the White Temple. It's definitely the most modern temple I have ever seen.

After our brief trip to Chiang Mai my mom began her looong journey back to America.

How lucky am I to have both parents fly half way around the just to see little old me. Thanks Dad and Mom for letting me share this special place with you. Chan rak kun <3
